Pricing
Two primary things determine the price of your painting: Size and Complexity. No size is two small or too large (within reason of course), but generally, the minimum size is 12 x 12” or so, and maximum can be up to 60 x 72” or larger. You can get a general idea of how much a painting will cost by measuring its total square inches. Traits for example come in 3 sizes—S, M, L—and 3 price ranges, and decrease in price per square in the larger the piece:
S/$3 sq in. (From 320 - 720 sq inches)
Example sizes: 16 x 20, 18 x 24, 20 x 24, 20 x 30, 24 x 30
M/$2.50 sq in. (From 800 - 1600 sq inches)
Example sizes: 24 x 36, 24 x 48, 30 x 40, 30 x 48, 40 x 40
L/$2 sq in. (From 1700 - 3000+ sq inches)
Example sizes: 36 x 48, 36 x 60, 36 x 72, 40 x 60, 48 x 60
Estimate: Based on your space measurements multiply the height x width to get total square inches, and then multiply that total by the square inch price assigned to that size, and you get a pretty good estimate of your cost.
